Someone recently asked us what spirit guides really do. This was Spirit’s and my answer:
Well, I can only answer from my own perspective and experience with my spirit guides over many years.
First, be aware of the various ways they can communicate with you. For me, it’s generally a strong sense of their presence and energy, especially when you have a question or issue they can help you with.
But there other ways too—in your dreams, through another human who may have the answers or solutions you’re seeking. It can even be through the unconditional love of a family per such as a dog or cat.
The ways are unlimited. Just ask when you need help or guidance. Then expect the answers to come.
Following is part of a message my spirit guides gave me many years ago:
Spirit
Spirit often speaks to you. Yet you do not hear because you’re not listening, you’re not watching. The signs are all around you. They come to you in ways expected and unexpected. But you’ll never hear or see them unless you remain watchful.
This the single most important task you can do in this incarnation—be watchful for the signs of Spirit speaking to you.
As you persist in your watchfulness, you will find Spirit speaks to you as easily and clearly as your friends and faimily on the earth plane.

I appreciated it when you that the spirits have always communicated with us through the signs around you. My friend just mentioned the other day that she is worried about her life since she does not know what to do ever since she got laid off from her company. I will suggest to her connecting with her spiritual guides that can help her get right back on track.
